Research on Maternity Wear Market of Bangladesh
Encore Creation has emerged in the startup scene of Bangladesh with a fresh and unique idea. Better than the idea is the purpose of the company: rejuvenating the dying movie industry of Bangladesh. It has shown immense promise and potential since its inception in 2017. Under Encore Creation’s banner, four major concerns, Costume Silhouette, Verve, Green Ribbon, and Little Dreams, have been operating so far. Recently, the company has decided to broaden its horizon by venturing into underserved sectors of the lifestyle industry. Accordingly, they have identified maternity wear as a potential subsector to venture into. Even though maternity wears stay perpetually in demand among the soon-to-be mothers in their pre-natal and post-natal periods, very few quality options are available. Sensing an opportunity in this subsector, the company, on a pilot basis, introduced a maternity wear line at their existing outlet in Unimart and got a good response overall. However, the true extent of the opportunity and nature of the existing demand has not been observed yet. Moreover, limited research data is available about this subsector. So, in order to understand the market better, Encore has approached Sym Consultants and a meeting conducted at the end of March this year involved a discussion of a written brief prepared by Encore Creations. Subsequent meetings clarified outstanding issues and the project is agreed to be commenced from 1st May 2020.
